Teams will play 3 on 3 cross ice hockey and there will be three games going at once. Games are 45 minutes long. To ensure equal ice time, shifts will be 45 seconds long and players will change on the buzzer.  Team Leaders will keep score and standings will be kept. At the end of the 11 week season, the team with the most wins will win the Welch Cup.

The Welch Cup is named after Jerry Welch, class of 1978.  Jerry was one of the greatest hockey players to wear a Marshfield sweater and probably the most prolific scorer.  Jerry graduated from Marshfield and did a Post Grad year at New Prep, where he was an All-American, before enrolling and playing for legendary coach, Len Ceglarski, at Boston College.   Jerry was also a LT in the Boston Fire Department.  He was a great supporter of Marshfield High Hockey.
